IFKAD 9th International Forum on Knowledge Asset Dynamics

Article Type: Call for abstracts From: Measuring Business Excellence, Volume 17, Issue 2

"Knowledge and management models for sustainable growth" 11-13 June 2014, Matera, Italy

In the last years sustainability has become a topic of global concern and a key issue in the strategic agenda of both business organizations and public authorities and organisations. Significant changes in business landscape, the emergence of new technology, including social media, the pressure of new social concerns, have called into question established conceptualizations of competitiveness, wealth creation and growth. A new and unaddressed set of issues regarding how public and private organisations manage and invest their resources to create sustainable value has come to light. In particular the increasing focus on environmental and social themes has suggested new dimensions to be taken into account in the value creation dynamics, both at organisations and communities level.

The relevance of adopting a holistic approach to social, cultural, economic and environmental features in value creation dynamics, both at micro and macro level, raises questions about how researchers, executives, managers and policy makers can effectively integrate sustainability issues into strategy, processes and growth paths. The management of the strategic knowledge value drivers as well as of the related knowledge management processes may support organizations and communities in developing strategies and practices inspired by sustainability.

The aim of the 9th International Forum on Knowledge Asset Dynamics (IFKAD - 2014) is to explore the relevance of knowledge and intellectual capital management for supporting organizations as well as regional and urban systems in their value creation dynamics according to a sustainable growth perspective.
