Matra Datavision joins forces with Tecnomatix to provide the complete production engineering environment

The signing of a world-wide co-operation agreement between Matra Datavision and Tecnomatix paves the way for the joint marketing of their respective products and expertise in CAD/CAM/CAE and CAPE (computer-aided production engineering). This agreement also confirms Tecnomatix as Matra Datavision's preferred partner for CAPE.
By joining forces, the two companies say that they aim to provide best-of-class technology as well as enhanced productivity to manufacturers operating in industries such as the automotive, aerospace, heavy machinery and energy sectors. In addition, Matra Datavision and Tecnomatix will co-operate in sharing and exploiting their technologies with the goal of both broadening the existing product offer and providing the basis for new products. The process will also result in Matra Datavision's Euclid Quantum product line being complemented by the Robcad, Dynamo, Valisys, and Part software products from Tecnomatix.

Albert Ifrah, European General Manager at Tecnomatix agrees. "The combination of Tecnomatix Virtual Manufacturing solutions with Matra Datavision's innovative CAD/ CAM/CAE software will bring concurrent engineering to a whole new level. Users of the combined solutions will be able to perform real product and process validation. With customers like Renault, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Renault VI (trucks), Fiat, BMW, GEC Alsthom and Airbus, we shall be well placed to provide hands-on expertise in the CAPE environment."
Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd develops, markets and supports CAPE products that allow production engineers to create virtual machines and production equipment models, interactively arrange them into virtual manufacturing lines, and manipulate them to perform on-screen manufacturing activities.
The company's CAPE products include Robcad for designing manual and automated processes such as spot welding, painting, and ergonomics the Valisys range for tolerance management and quality control, Dynamo for the analysis and planning of assembly processes, Part for automated process planning of machining operations and Exaline for printed circuit board (PCB) assembly machines.
