Powder coating plant opened

Keywords Metnor, Galvanizing, Engineering, Powder coatings

Metnor Group plc, the metal galvanizing and engineering support services company, reports the commencement of trading of its newly developed integrated galvanizing plant in Middlesbrough. Metnor believes that it is the first PLC to combine both galvanizing and powder coating within the same factory site and is one of only a few that has a plant of this kind in the UK.

The company also believes that by combining galvanizing, and the powder coating process which provides an applied colour finish, customers of Metnor will also benefit from lower costs due to faster turnaround times, reduced handling and lower transport costs.

The plant in Middlesbrough, which employs 60 and is said to be the first factory of its kind to be established in the North, will be in production 24 hours a day in order to fulfil the considerable demand from fencing, agricultural and general engineering customers. It is anticipated that a further 14 employees will be recruited following the development of the plant.
