Nova 2000 – blast helmet

Nova 2000 – blast helmetKeywords: USF Open Blast, Protective clothing, Safety

USF Open Blast has just launched the Nova 2000, a new, air-fed, blast helmet which incorporates a number of novel features which it is claimed makes it quieter, more comfortable and 30 per cent lighter than most other helmets on the market (see Plate 3).

According to USF, pillow foam all-round padding makes the Nova 2000 snug and comfortable in use and ensures that when the operator turns his head the helmet follows, giving maximum visibility at all times. The manufacturers also claim that this padding, combined with multi-layered, sound deadening foam, makes the Nova 2000 the quietest on the market. The dual-lens viewing window, with tear-off outer lens, has been designed to prevent dust ingress, reducing window replacement costs.

The helmet, which is stated to meet the requirements of 29 PPE regulations, is supplied complete with a cape and inner bib to eliminate grit and dust ingress, replaceable helmet- to-breathing air connector, breathing tube, belt and air flow regulating valve with low air flow indicator.
