Fergusson Wild, specialist in the supply of industrial minerals, reports that it has added Ecoglass to its existing range of expendable abrasives for the blast cleaning industry.

Available in three sizes, Ecoglass is derived from recycled glass and is said to be ideal for most open nozzle applications including the removal of paint, mill scale and corrosion from steelwork, masonry cleaning and woodwork cleaning.

As a glass material, which would otherwise have been thrown away, Ecoglass is considered an environmentally friendly abrasive, which is inert and free from crystalline silica, heavy metals and toxic contaminants. In Fergusson Wild's opinion, as any dust produced is cleaner, Ecoglass is therefore much safer in use than other expendable blast cleaning abrasives.

In many cases said to be cheaper than conventional abrasives, Ecoglass can be used in wet and dry blast cleaning operations, offering the same blast profile and equivalent cleaning rates.

Fergusson Wild also offers a range of traditional copper slag materials, with large stocks always available for immediate delivery.
