US-based Rolled Alloys, an international supplier of heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and high temperature speciality alloy products, announces the first-time publication of The Alloy Guide. This document draws upon the company's 48 years of experience with heat-resistant alloy applications.

Rolled Alloys has worked extensively in the commercial heat-treating industry since its very beginning, and through that activity has developed considerable expertise in this area. Data presented in The Alloy Guide come from dozens of application case studies and several hundred performance analyses conducted in Rolled Alloys' metallurgical laboratory.

The literature begins with an Alloy Performance Guide and information on material chemical compositions. Also included in the data are discussions on thermal expansion, carburization resistance, and oxidation resistance. Further in the text are sections devoted to detailed welding, design and machining issues, with specific techniques and procedural guidelines provided.

Additional details are provided on the operation of salt baths and dealing with molten metals. Never before has Rolled Alloys offered a more in-depth, concise collection of information on the practical use of heat-resistant materials in commercial heat-treat applications.

While the publication is aimed primarily toward the heat-treating industry, it should also prove to be of value to individuals involved in other high temperature operations. This publication is available to interested parties.
