Denso Tape protection for water treatment plant upgrade

Denso Tape protection for water treatment plant upgradeKeywords: Water treatment, Quality, Standards

Contractor Balfour Beatty's Civil Engineering Division is currently upgrading the Horsley Water Treatment Plant near Wylam, west of Newcastle, for Northumbrian Water. This is part of Northumbrian Water's ongoing programme of improving the quality of its water to the highest practical standards.

Winn & Coales Denso products have been chosen for protection of all joints, couplings and flange connections on the pipework at Horsley. The joints and flanges are first treated with Denso paste, followed by Denso profiling mastic to smooth the profile of the joints, and then Denso tape is applied to complete the PI water industry specification.

Denso tape is a non-woven synthetic fibre fabric impregnated and coated with an adhesive compound based on petrolatum.
