Denso Void Filler protection at M11 Junction 8 improvement scheme

Keywords: Anti-Corrosion, Roads, Corrosion prevention

Winn and Coales Denso Void Filler has been chosen to perform a key anti-corrosion role on the Junction 8 M11 improvement scheme.

The existing roundabout at Junction 8 supported above the M11 on 16 reinforced concrete pillars and was constructed some 25 years ago prior to the opening of this section of the M11. Denso Void Filler has now been applied by May Gurney Construction to the bridge abutment areas of the support pillars to protect against any future “concrete corrosion”.

Denso Void Filler is a petrolatum compound which contains additives to displace moisture and inhibit corrosion. It can be injected hot from a heated tank with its own pumping system specifically deisgned by Winn and Coales Engineering Division.

Denso Void Filler has been used on a number of international construction projects, including the protection of all the stay cables and internal/external post tensioning steel strands on the Second Severn Crossing.
