Swedish steel operation gets ISO 9001/2000

Uddeholm, the Swedish manufacturer of high-performance steels for the tooling industry have just been awarded BS 9001 2000, covering their activities at their UK operation in Oldbury, West Midlands.

Uddeholm have developed their process of continuous improvement in line with this new quality standard, and their reward is to be one of the first companies to receive the certificate of conformity from BSI.

The new standard will enable Uddeholm to further improve its support for UK manufacturing industry in respect of quality, documentation and service through continuous improvement measured against improvement targets.

Part of their commitment is to the personal development of all employees with a strong emphasis on meeting the needs of customers. The long term aim is to help Uddeholm’s customers to achieve their goals in respect of quality, service, reduction of lead times and reduced cost.
