Berger Beckers moves coil coating production to larger factory in India

Berger Becker Coatings Pvt Ltd., an Indian joint venture company owned by AB Wilh. Becker (51 percent) and Berger Paints India Ltd. (49 percent), has responded to the rapid growth in the Indian coil coating market by relocating to a larger factory in Goa with space for further expansion. Berger Becker is the leading supplier of coil coatings to the Indian market.

On a 19,000 square metre plot, the new plant can produce batches up to 12,000 litres. A semi-automatic base blending system enables fast, accurate response for colour production. The product portfolio includes a full range of PVdFs, metallic and textured finishes, as well as polyesters, silicone polyesters, primers and backing coats. Full commissioning is expected by mid- 2005. The plant serves all the main Indian pre-coating lines, as well as customers in Nepal, Bangladesh and Dubai.
