Integrated management system for quality, environment and occupational health and safety in the industry market division of Voith Turbo

Voith Turbo, a globally-active engineering company, received quality-management certification in accordance with the ISO 9001 international standard at the beginning of the 1990s, a time when quality management was still an unknown concept to many. This innovative management system has now been expanded by two further modules - the ISO 14001 environmental standard and OHSAS 18001, a non sector-specific guideline for occupational health and safety.

With certification according to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, Voith Turbo has it in writing: an integrated management system for quality, environment and occupational health and safety is firmly rooted in the company. Voith Turbo efficiently bundles together the resources of the company and the management system. Uniform processes and procedures from different areas are summarized and described once. The executive board of Voith Turbo sees the expansion of the current management system as a reasonable and necessary investment in the future. Customers acquiring high-quality investment goods are expecting more and more that the products are manufactured under safe working and environmental conditions.

An understanding of environmental protection and occupational health and safety is nothing new for Voith Turbo. The integrated management system precisely documents any relevant processes in a manual, checks their compliance and identifies clear rules for improvement measures. The company sees the introduction of the management system as a way of increasing the company value and not least as a means of better satisfying the requirements of markets, customers, society and state.

Voith Turbo, the specialist for hydrodynamic drive, coupling and braking systems for road, rail and industrial applications, as well as for ship propulsion systems, is a group division of Voith AG.

Voith sets standards worldwide for papermaking technology, power transmission, energy technology, and industrial services. Voith was founded on January 1, 1867. With approximately 30,000 employees, annual sales of 3.5 billion and over 200 locations worldwide, Voith is one of the largest family-owned companies in Europe.
