New: PAXcam5 high-res camera announced

MIS, Inc. introduces a new addition to their PAXcam line of digital cameras for microscopy, the PAXcam5. The new model offers a full 5mp (2,560 x 2,048 pixels) as the native resolution of the sensor, providing stunning high- resolution color images.

“MIS has a history of being responsive to customer needs by developing new products and extending product functions. This is reflected not only in the consistent release of new versions of our PAX-it imaging software, but also in the development of hardware that meets the needs of the varied markets that we serve,” says Tom Vuke, VP of Imaging.

“Customers may need increased resolution images for a variety of reasons” states Chris Jahns, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing. “The PAXcam5 fills that need with a single shot, requiring no pixel shifting and with no interpolation. Whether a customer is documenting and archiving, or capturing images for measurements or analysis, or producing reports and presentations, the PAXcam5 will give outstanding clarity and accurate color for truly superb results.”

As with all of the PAXcam line, the 5mp PAXcam5 camera allows overlays of annotations and images on the live preview, selection of regions of interest in the field of view, auto/manual white balancing functions and auto/manual exposure control, background subtraction on the live and captured images, time lapse capture, and many more standard features. The PAXcam5 and other PAXcam cameras are also integrated with the extensive features of the PAX-it! imaging software, for managing image collections, databasing, annotating, and processing images.

The PAXcam line of digital microscope cameras now include the PAXcamEDU at 1.3mp, PAXcam2 and PAXcam2+ at 2mp, PAXcam3 at 3mp, PAXcam5 at 5mp, and the adjustable resolution PAXcamARC with resolution up to 20mp. The cameras are used in various scientific and industrial laboratories for documentation through microscopes and on macro stands.
