Capturx Pipeline Data Capture Solutions win NACE’s Corrosion Innovation of the Year Award

Article Type: Industrial news From: Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials, Volume 60, Issue 4

Adapx announced that its Capturx Pipeline Solutions has been named the 2013 Corrosion Innovation of the Year by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE). The award was presented at the NACE Corrosion 2013 Conference and Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Adapx also announced that Kinder Morgan is now using Capturx to automate data capture, joining the ranks of other pipeline leaders including TransCanada, Enbridge, Chevron Pipelines, and Anadarko.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award for helping prevent pipeline corrosion,” said Ken Schneider, CEO of Adapx. “Speeding up the capture and analysis of pipeline inspection data helps safeguard our nation’s infrastructure, environment, and reliable supply of energy.”

With Capturx Pipeline Solutions, pipeline integrity teams can automate their field data capture and get instant visibility to pipeline inspection data collected in the field using tablets or digital pens and standard paper forms. Data recorded by pen or tablet on custom forms is instantly sent back to HQ for analysis and remediation.

“Capturx shows great promise for direct savings in man hours for multiple tasks being performed in and around our facilities daily, weekly, and monthly. The fact that we can achieve this significant technological leap forward in document control, without a significant training effort, or a sky high capital investment, is a huge win for us in Terminals,” Daniel Winston, Senior Corrosion Specialist, Technical Services Group, Kinder Morgan and NACE Houston Section Board of Directors Member.
