Enfield-based manufacturer TEC Electrical Components has introduced a new range of adaptors designed to enable disparate items of military equipment to be connected together quickly and easily.
Available in either straight or angled versions, the adaptors can be specified in a variety of configurations for converting between most commonly used military circular connectors, including MIL-C-38999, MIL-C-26482, MIL-C-2652 and MIL-C-55116 types.
As well as providing a space- and weight-saving alternative to cable assemblies, the adaptors are ideal for use wherever EMP or EMC considerations are paramount. In addition, they can be customised to incorporate components such as diodes or resistors either to provide protection to equipment or to ensure that signal levels are correctly matched.

The adaptor shells are made from a choice of stainless-steel or aluminium alloy with a variety of finish options. Advanced engineering polymers and fluorosilicone rubber are used for the adaptors' insulator materials, while contacts are made from gold-plated copper alloy. Current and voltage ratings range from 3-100A and 550-1,250V, respectively.
