A detailed instructional kit illustrating digital solutions to problems in aircraft dynamic stability, control and flight performance. Readers with a working knowledge of FORTRAN can learn in a step-by-step format several effective programming techniques in a range of flight dynamics areas.

Of the five programs included, FLIGHT and LOCUS both previously used in-flight control system designs for two production unmanned air vehicles provide the necessary tools for studying uncontrolled aircraft motions, stability, and the design of automatic flight control systems.

A DOS or Windows environment is required for the FORTRAN programs included on the 3.5in. diskette, which contains source programs, run (input) files, and database files. Access to a compiler for FORTRAN 77 or 90 is also necessary.

Contents: Airframe and Atmosphere Mathematical Modeling; Control and Guidance System Modeling; Program LOCUS, S-Plane Locus; Program ZPLANE, Z-Plane Root Locus; Program FLIGHT, Transient Response; Program PERFORM, Flight Path Calculation; Progam COVAR, Covariance Propagation; Utility Subroutines; Example Run Files (Inputs) and Outputs; Appendices.
