As a result of an expanded agreement, the machine speeds and feeds library from Micro Estimating's product, Machine Shop Estimating, will be included with each purchase of ProCAM and TekSoft's latest product, CAMWorks.

CAMWorks, which has been on the market since August 1997, is a manufacturing program that operates within SolidWorks, a solid modeling design program which TekSoft's CAMWorks Project Manager Bruce Wiener referred to as "probably the hottest modeling program out there".

A 1996 agreement between TekSoft and MES has been amended, allowing TekSoft to redistribute MSE's speeds and feeds library.

Under the original agreement between the two software companies, the speeds and feeds library was offered as an option to customers purchasing TekSoft's ProCAM program, an integrated design and manufacturing package.

"This (CAMWorks) is a completely brand new product and it does a lot of revolutionary things itself, but one of the things that we wanted was to put in feeds and speeds for every system", Wiener said. He added that since the original agreement, TekSoft's customers have become acquainted with MSE's speeds and feeds library and have come to like it. "It was considered the best speeds and feeds data available."
