The Gould EasyGraf, now available in the UK exclusively from Nicolet Technologies, is a portable, lightweight multichannel recorder that is rugged enough for the most demanding field applications (Plate 6).

EasyGraf features high-frequency thermal-array recording, extensive annotation capabilities, high-performance plug-in signal conditioning, and 21 chart speeds from 0.01mm/s to 125mm/min. It can monitor up to four analogue inputs and six event channels.

The recorder measures only 19.4 × 38.1 × 38.1cm, and weighs 10kg. Recording takes place on a 100mm wide grid with overlapping traces, which can be configured as two 40mm grids with two independent channels or four 20mm grids with four independent channels.

Other hard-copy features include the facility for up to six event markers, time marks synchronised with the internal recorder clock, automatic printing of time and date and page number, and channel identification including signal-conditioner status.

A digital display provides continuous indication of real time, date, and channel identification or position, while an LED channel position display indicates the position of the analogue traces in real time.

A wide range of inexpensive plug-in 6600 Series signal conditioners are available for industrial or medical applications, including DC voltage and current amplifiers, RMS modules, medical transducer conditioners, and high-voltage probes.

For field or shopfloor use, the instrument's rugged, all-metal construction is complemented by a built-in AC/DC power supply with an optional battery pack.
