Wood Group Aero Inc., part of the Gas Turbines division of international energy services company John Wood Group plc, has announced plans to expand its Connecticut facility by 36,000 square feet, almost doubling its current capacity.

Currently operating from a 50,000 square feet facility in East Windsor, Connecticut, Wood Group Aero Inc. provides comprehensive repair and overhaul services to users of Pratt & Whitney engines such as North and South American airlines. Shop services include piece part repair, module overhaul and engine testing to the highest standards. The company is FAA and ISO 9002 accredited. Field service includes engine change, gearbox replacement, hot section inspection and fan changes.

The Plattsburgh facility will be run as a separate project centre within the business, supplying the overhaul shop and offering a "teardown and tag" service to the engine spare parts market as well as capability for teardown, inspection and build.
