Ladish Co., Inc. (Nasdaq: LDSH) (www.ladishco.com), a manufacturer of engineered forgings, has produced a new capabilities brochure. The company, which supplies forged components to high- technology OEMs, is known for having a wide range of unique production resources.
For example, Ladish has the largest isothermal press, counterblow hammer and sizing press in the world, as well as the largest ring-rolling and shear-forming equipment. Many of the US space program's space craft were designed around Ladish's production capabilities. Today the company is actively involved in launch vehicle programs with a number of domestic and international companies.
The 12-page, four-color brochure features new photography throughout, including images of newly upgraded equipment such as the completely rebuilt 15,000-ton press and 18,000lb hammer, both of which were outfitted with computerized controls to improve production speed and product quality. Building on the company's extensive process modeling database for its isothermal press, arguably the most advanced in the world, Ladish will expand its modeling capabilities to include data from the newly computerized equipment.
Earlier this year Ladish stock began trading on the NASDAQ exchange. The company has recently signed strategic agreements with Chinese industrial companies to explore joint venture opportunities and with a Chinese titanium supplier. Ladish also has a strategic partnership with California-based Weber Metals. Ladish increased its net income 57 percent during the first half of 1998 on a 19 percent rise in sales.
Founded in 1905, Ladish is headquartered in Cudahy, Wisconsin and operates plants in Wisconsin and Connecticut. The company manufactures high-technology forgings for jet engine, aerospace, industrial gas turbine and other industrial markets.
