Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) recently announced the signing of a ten-year outsourcing contract with UK-based Computing Devices Company Limited, a company acquired by General Dynamics Corporation on 31 December 1997. The estimated value of the contract will be approximately $62 million over the ten years. CSC will hire ten of Computing Devices Company's employees and will acquire all of the company's internal network and computing assets. CSC will manage all of the company's data processing systems, including all desktop and midrange computing, applications, help-desk and network functions.

CSC originally signed its ten-year, $3 billion contract with General Dynamics in 1991. The agreement brought 2,600 former General Dynamics employees into the company, along with three data centres that now support more than 80 CSC clients in industries ranging from insurance to aerospace. That contract was extended by three years in an agreement announced 5 May 1998.
