Rolls-Royce plc, the civil aerospace, defence and energy group, recently announced two new joint ventures which will expand its business opportunities and build on the range of services it provides to customers.
The joint ventures support the company's business strategy of addressing growing, global markets with a broad range of products and services, focused on its core gas turbine technology.
In aero engine leasing, Rolls-Royce will establish a joint venture with GATX Capital, which is becoming a 50 per cent partner in Rolls-Royce and Partners Finance (RRPF).
In aircraft leasing, Rolls-Royce is to merge its existing business, Aircraft Finance and Trading, with Pembroke Capital Limited, the Dublin-based aircraft leasing and financial services company. The combined company, which will be called Pembroke Group Limited (Pembroke), will be owned 50 per cent by Rolls-Royce and 50 per cent by Pembroke Capital management and other Irish investors.
