Maywood Instruments has appointed Dr Abdolreza Cheshmehdoost BSc (Hons), MSc, PhD, Cphys (Plate 13), to the position of R&D manager. With over 20 scientific papers published in national and international journals, Dr Cheshmehdoost will further enhance Maywood's reputation as a market leader in bespoke force transducer design.

For the last ten years, Dr Cheshmehdoost has been a lecturer and research fellow at Brunel University, where he conducted research into new sensor technology for measuring force, pressure, torque and displacement. A specialist in the use of computer modelling and analysis, Abdolreza will be introducing state-of-the-art computer technologies to design new strain-gauge based force transducers for new and challenging applications, as well as optimising and enhancing existing products.
