Howmet Corporation in Greenwich, Connecticut, USA (NYSE:HWM) (www. howmet. com), has named Michael Pepper as general manager of the company's UK-based operation, Howmet Ltd. Located in Exeter, the operation produces cast alloys, ceramic cores, and castings for the aerospace and industrial gas turbine sectors.

A 12-year veteran of Howmet, Pepper relocated to the UK from the company's Wichita Falls, Texas, operation, where he held a variety of engineering and manufacturing positions. Pepper's responsibilities in his new position include leading the Exeter management team in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles. Pepper holds a BS in Engineering from Midwestern State University.

Howmet Corporation also has appointed Terrence V. Zuk as general manager of the Howmet Gennevilliers casting operation, located in Gennevilliers, France. Zuk was formerly general manager of the Howmet-Tempcraft operation in Cleveland, OH. Over the course of his three-year assignment, Zuk will guide a team of local managers in adopting advanced techniques for competing in a global economy.

Zuk's more than 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry includes service with companies such as GE, Textron and Howmet. He holds a BS in Industry Technology from Cleveland State University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
