DDC has published the sixth edition of its MIL-STD-1553 Designer's Guide which has become the primary reference tool for design engineers working with the MIL-STD-1553 databus. It offers engineers and network designers detailed applications, explanations and product information (Plate 22).
Since 1972, MIL-STD-1553 has evolved into the predominant, internationally accepted networking standard for military platforms, while DDC has led the way in the development of 1553 products and associated software.

The Designer's Guide provides an overview of MIL-STD-1553 and related standards, a comparison of 1553A and 1553B, and an overview of MIL-STD-1760B. It also includes a complete copy of the MIL-STD-1553 standard, as well as production and Remote Terminal validation test plans.
