Bedford College is one of only a few educational establishments in the UK to provide the Aerospace Engineering course. Aerospace Programme Co-ordinator Alan Taylor is very pleased the partnership will continue into the year 2000: "Our first year with the students has proved incredibly successful. They have worked very hard, not only mastering English but also the technical language of engineering".
"We have a full range of equipment including an aircraft workshop with a jet Provost training aircraft, gas turbine and piston engine facilities amongst many others. The students are also trained in basic handskills in our basic fitting workshops."
Bedford College arranges "host" families for the students to live with during term time to assist with their language skills and appreciation of Western European culture.
