System 3R's latest "One System Partner" video provides a very convincing argument for how the important time and cost saving advantages of automatic pallet handling using robots is no longer the prerogative of larger engineering companies with big production cycles.
Using a "virtual reality" model of a mobile telephone mould manufacture, the free video illustrates how System 3R automated work handling technology and computer software can be equally beneficial to small and medium sized engineers, by improving efficiency and enhancing profit potential, with even greater accuracy and improved quality.
The video shows the step-by-step telephone mould production process based on a one minute set up time within an accuracy of 1 micron, using 3R's WorkMan and WorkPal work handling robots, and the WorkManager computer software package. It explains how once an order has been received and committed to the system, information is immediately made available on the operating company's workload, delivery times, pricing and materials requirements and, ultimately, provide ISO 9000 documentation details.
With work pieces and electrode materials mounted on pallets using work holding technology from the System 3R Macro range and work coded with ID chips, giving each a unique identity, the automation is totally effective. The software controlling the process is based on Windows and, in true "One System Partner"' style, has been developed by professionals for professionals. Consequently, the video explodes the myth that automation is only for large production runs, and makes the point that there are already engineers using System 3R robots and computer software across an entire range of product sizes and runs, with confidence, maximum efficiency and, of course, with improved profitability.
