Lighting specialists MILS Technology has appointed Patrick Aisher a non-executive director with responsibilities for supervising the group's entry into the aviation and airports markets.

Patrick is CEO and co-founder of air navigation safety Wavionix Software. The company was founded in 1990, to develop software applications in the field of aeronautical safety. Wavionix Software has won numerous industry awards including the Flight International Aerospace Industry award in the infrastructure category and the Air Traffic Management award 1998, for its 3D geodesic positioning software.

He is widely recognised within the industry and has presented papers on air navigation and airport/airspace design at numerous international conferences, at the invitation of ICAO, IATA and the USAF. Through Wavionix, Aisher has supplied software solutions to civil and military aviation organizations in more than 45 countries. Wavionix is also a world business partner of the Airports Council International, an industry group representing airports world-wide, and as such provides software and safety solutions for more than 150 airports world-wide.

In the USA, Patrick is president of WISI Inc., a Virginia-based company specializing in the provision of satellite-based aeronautical flight information. WISI Inc. is a joint venture between Wavionix and ISI Inc., the industry leaders in satellite systems architecture for air navigation.
