According to Deutsch, the Type 1 is designed to meet the electrical interface requirements of MIL-STD-1760, and its tri-start threaded free plug is used for aircraft fuselage and pylon installations. For ejector launch stores or applications requiring instant disconnection, the improved, compact design lanyard release plug offers an effective solution.
Complying with MIL-DTL-38999 Series III, Type 1 is stated to be of rugged, high-quality construction and offers full environmental performance and corrosion protection. Other features, typical to Type 2 also, include full EMC shielding and a comprehensive choice of contacts to Mil Std and European specifications.
The Type 2 range of connectors is specifically designed for rail launch applications. Type 2 Blindmate comprises launcher receptacle, intermediate buffer plug, missile receptacle and protective cap and is designed for quick coupling of stores where access is restricted. The buffer plug provides protection for the launcher receptacle from missile efflux and is replaceable as necessary.
The buffer is supplied complete with a full complement of fixed pin contacts. "Transition" buffer plugs are available also which are designed to adapt the aircraft to carry a range of both current and future types of stores, offering a useful role change capability and mission flexibility.
Designed for assured performance in extreme conditions, Type 2 features bayonet locking for easy coupling, adapters for multi-configurations.
