Keyword US Airways

Airways reports the appointment of Charles Nardello, a 20-year veteran of the US Airways maintenance organisation, to the newly created post of vice president of line maintenance control and hubs.

"The new line maintenance post adds an officer-level position in an area with major impact on daily performance. Charlie's familiarity with the airline's operation and his sensitivity to the needs of our customers bodes well for US Airways", said US Airways chairman Stephen M. Wolf.

In his new role, Nardello will be responsible for the maintenance control function in the Operations Control Center and line maintenance activities in US Airways' three major hubs – Charlotte, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Darryl Hartzell continues as vice-president of line maintenance with responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance of aircraft in stations outside the three hubs. Both report to Christopher Doan, senior vice-president of maintenance, at the airline's Pittsburgh offices.
