A new 400ml-aerosol dispenser of Safecut, the high performance lubricant for a wide range of metal cutting applications (Plate 9), has been introduced by Advanced Microlubrication Systems (AMS).

Safecut is thought to be ideal for service and maintenance engineers. Vegetable based and fully biodegradable, it is said to increase the effectiveness of cutting tools by reducing friction through "on the spot" lubrication in a wide range of on-site operations including drilling, tapping, sawing and thread forming.

The high operating efficiency offered by Safecut is believed to result in a longer life for all cutting edges, and better performance even with hand tools. The accuracy of spot lubrication achieved with the aerosol minimises waste and leaves a clean working area with neutral aroma. Safecut only needs to be used in very small quantities to be effective and leaves a clean dry surface after operation. The propellant is non-flammable and CFC free.

AMS tell us that the product is not toxic, hazardous or carcinogenic and that, because it is a natural organic derivative, it is also environmentally safe.
