Following the announcement last year of its intent to launch the first all-encompassing, global aerospace portal, TRW Aeronautical Systems (Lucas Aerospace) reports that its portal is now live and accessible through its intranet. The company is in discussions with its customers, suppliers and peer group to provide beta-access to the portal.
TRW Aeronautical Systems has been in dialog with various companies who have expressed interest in joining, including Thomson-CSF Sextant. Firm interest has also been expressed by a large number of suppliers including Secome, Lentern, Gardner Aerospace, Langford Lodge, MPM, Risoud, and Muirhead Aerospace Ltd.
TRW Aeronautical Systems intends the final solution to encompass all business processes across the company, embrace lean operational philosophies and be completely back-office integrated. The company expects to announce a name for the portal before year's end.
