We are informed that over £800,000 of new international business has recently been won by air traffic control services company Avionic Services plc.

Siemens AG of Germany has awarded the company a £650,000 contract for project management and specialist services relating to the rehabilitation of air traffic control services at Addis Ababa International and five other regional airports throughout Ethiopia. The programme, which includes equipment supply, is EU funded.

Avionic has also won a contract worth £127,000 to re-furbish the visual control room at Teesside International Airport. It will provide new air traffic control consoles, an integrated communications control system featuring a touch sensitive human machine interface and a complete battery-backed emergency radio system.

Tipping the company over the £800,000 mark was winning a contract worth £42,000 to upgrade the communications system at Oxford Airport.
