AC/DC TIG welding equipment catalogue

AC/DC TIG welding equipment catalogue Keywords: ESAB, Welding, Publication

Just published by ESAB is a new catalogue which gives full details and specifications of its range of TIG welding equipment providing AC, DC and AC/DC outputs.

Taken in sequence, first comes the Caddy TIG 150 DC, a lightweight easily portable welder designed to meet the needs of the repair and maintenance market. It weighs 5.5kg and is powered from a 230V, single phase power supply. A "touch start" facility is considered ideal for clean, simple, contamination-free starts. In addition, the Caddy TIG can also be used for MMA (manual metal arc) welding.

The Power TIG 160/255 DC incorporates the latest inverter technology and is said to be ideal for outdoor use. It is easy to use with a hot start function and has an arc force feature which gives a stronger arc, making it easier to weld with certain electrodes.

ESAB's Aristotig 160/200/255 machines incorporate an advanced front panel design, pulsed TIG to give easier control of heat and weld pool and can be programmed and reprogrammed during welding operations. It can reportedly weld stainless and mild steels and most other materials from 0.5mm dia plate thickness.

The LTG400-TIG welding rectifier is thyristor controlled which means rapid and infinitely variable welding current setting. The LTG also compensates for mains voltage fluctuations giving a stable and smooth welding current.

Handy TIG 180 AC/DC weighs 11.5kg and is designed to utilise the available mains power more efficiently than conventional inverters. It is reported to be less sensitive to unstable voltage supply and can be run from a generator.

Aristotig 255 AC/DC is said to have been developed for advanced welding and the most demanding applications. According to ESAB it will give the highest quality TIG welding on all types of materials. ESAB also states that working in both AC and DC modes, this machine will give a safe start and stable arc. Digital instruments are standard and a built-in pulse device gives better control of the weld pool.

ESAB's Heliarc 252/352 AC/DC claims excellent performance in AC/DC TIG and MMA welding. It is a compact yet powerful machine with many advanced features.

The Aristotig 405 AC/DC is an advanced inverter based machine which is described as equipped with many features which facilitate high quality TIG welding on all types of weldable materials and thicknesses. It can also weld with most coated electrodes up to 6mm diameter.

The Tigaid 315 AC/DC is an add-on unit for TIG welding which can be connected to an existing AC or DC power source. Mated to a modern thyristor controlled power source, the Tigaid 315 reportedly forms the ideal arrangement for advanced TIG welding incorporated slope functions and pilot arc.

Other ESAB products featured in the new guide include the G.Tech, a TIG electrode grinder which is a tungsten grinder with special enclosed wet grinder system, and a range of seven TIG torches
