Qatar Airways has become the first airline to order IEC international's integrated InSeat digital versatile disc (DVD) video entertainment system. The initial order is for installation of in seat DVD systems in the premium class cabins of its fleet of six new Airbus A320s that begin entering service in October 2001. Qatar Airways has taken options on DVD systems to equip a further five A320s. Qatar Airways has also issued further orders for two A319s, five A330-200s and two A380s. The DVD system includes 8.4" LCD monitors with deployment arm, passenger control unit and power supply unit.
