Hand blast cabinet

Hand blast cabinetKeywords: USF Surface Preparation, Blasting

All the key benefits of blast cleaning for peening, etching, general cleaning and improving the surface of small components are thought to be now available to a much wider market following the launch of the Typhoon hand blast cabinet (see Plate 3).

Claiming a very small footprint, the Typhoon will fit into even the smallest workshop. It has a work chamber 900mm wide x 750mm deep x 700mm high and will reportedly accept loads of 50kg. Standard features claimed include: a wide viewing window with high density fluorescent lighting for maximum operator visibility; full width access doors for easy loading and unloading; and several operator safety features such as door interlock switch and a deadman switch on the foot pedal.

The Typhoon is supplied ready for immediate use, being fitted with a patented integral dust extractor/collector, media-metering valve, air pressure regulator/filter, blast gun and nozzle. Designed for use with most types of blast media, all it requires is a single-phase electric supply and compressed air source.
