Keywords: Dunlop Aviation Services, British Regional Airlines, Wheels

British Regional Airlines Limited has contracted Dunlop Aviation Services (DAS) to service its aircraft wheels in addition to the brake maintenance it has been providing for six years (see Plate 10).

Providing complete logistics management, DAS will arrange collection from, and delivery to, any of the airline's mainland sites, from Inverness to Southampton, and carry out full maintenance including sourcing tyres.

In the self-contained flow line facility at Coventry, wheels are dismantled, cleaned, inspected and components replaced or totally refurbished as necessary. Providing a 24 hour, seven days a week, AOG service, the facility is at present working a two shift system which has a capacity of 11,000 wheels/annum.
