Welch Allyn, Inc.'s Lighting Products Division has released a new brochure detailing the performance and technical specifications of its complete line of halogen aircraft/transportation lamps.

The four-page brochure provides a complete listing of the 23 lamps included in the Welch Allyn aircraft lamp family, along with their performance characteristics and a detailed drawing that maps out physical dimensions of lamps fitted with three available base types. The brochure can be acquired by calling the Welch Allyn Lighting Products Division sales office, or by requesting a copy via the Web at www.walamp.com.

Consisting of halogen reading lamps, cockpit lamps and galley lamps, these light sources were originally developed to meet the stringent specifications of the Boeing Company. They have since been widely adopted by the airline industry in both new and retrofitted crafts, as well as deployed in trains, military helicopters and fighter aircraft.

"The real highlight of our transportation lamps is their incredible 10,000-hour lifetimes – which makes them the longest lasting lamps in the industry", said Jim Kiesa, sales manager for Welch Allyn Lighting Products Division. "And what's more is light output maintenance levels are among the best available, so they deliver consistent brightness levels over the lifetime of the lamp". Welch Allyn aircraft lamps are also designed to withstand the electrical spikes commonly experienced in aircraft lighting and, with their optical-quality glass construction, are very easy to replace.

Added Kiesa, "The excellent performance of our 10,000-hour lamps also positions them to challenge the competing white LED market head on. While LEDs feature long lifetimes, they just can't compete with the high-end halogen color consistency, price and, most importantly, output".

Welch Allyn transportation lamps are available in 6-, 12- and 28-Volt versions and at wattages ranging from 10 to 15.4. Samples may be ordered on the www.walamp.com Web site.
