The UK's CAA has a new chairman, Sir Roy McNulty, the former chairman of Short Brothers, a very experienced aviation professional who first joined the then independent aerospaceoperation as finance director back in 1978. Sir Roy is a chartered accountant and hails from County Donegal. He was president of the Society of British Aerospace Companies 1993-1994 and chairman of the Department of Trade and Industry Aviation Committee 1995-1998. Sir Roywas chairman of National Air Traffic Services Ltd (NATS) in its period just before privatisation.
