Hardware-in-the loop contract
Acutronic USA Inc., a supplier of motion test and simulation systems for aerospace and defence will develop a helicopter environmental simulation system for the Boeing Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche armed reconnaissance helicopter after winning a contract from The Boeing Company in Philadelphia.
The hard-in-the-loop simulation system will utilise three large motion tables that will enable Boeing to investigate and evaluate helicopter dynamic system performance in a laboratory setting with fidelity levels comparable to actual aircraft flight tests.
The company is under contract to provide a "turn-key" simulation system that includes three motion tables, hydraulic power supply with piping, individual table control consoles and a system control console with command and data acquisition instrumentation along with system installation, integration and start-up at the customer's facility.
