Farnborough International 2002

Farnborough International 2002

Farnborough International, the world’s premier aerospace business event, was once again the place to be and do business in 2002. With around 150,000 people attending the show and over 1,200 exhibitors, the show was well-populated by a vast array of industry specialists. An independent report showed that the calibre of visitors was extremely high.

The terrible events of September 11th have had, and will continue to have, an impact on the aerospace industry. At Farnborough International 2002 exhibitors and visitors saw how the global aerospace industry is coming back from this horrific day and were able to have a glimpse into its future.

Emerald and Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology were delighted to co-sponsor the Association of Aerospace Universities (AAU) stand at Farnborough (see Plate 1). The AAU is a focus for activities in the Higher Education sector relating to UK Aerospace and supports industry through the provision of world class education, research and consultancy (www.aau.ac.uk). The AAU attracted a number of visitors to their stand, and Emerald was delighted to support this initiative.

Farnborough International 2004 will be from 19-25 July.
