CASCO CEO Mike Farge receives MRO Safety Award

Mike Farge, Chief Executive of Commercial Aerospace Services Company Ltd (CASCO), was presented with an MRO Safety Award at a recent dinner held at the Curio-haus in Hamburg. The awards dinner preceded the prestigious Aviation Week MRO Conference and Exhibition in Hamburg's Congress Hall.

Mike collected the award for his dedicated work in tackling the ongoing problem of bogus parts. According to Aviation Week, "He was concerned about the use of and distribution of bogus parts in Europe and wanted to systematically combat the problem. He brainstormed the idea of an approved parts supplier programme that would be accredited through the JAA. He laid the groundwork for such a programme and has been promoting it tirelessly. This programme is now close to receiving JAA accreditation largely through his efforts".

Two other Safety Awards were presented to Gert Litterscheidt, Maintenance Director for JAA for his work on human factors training and Hal Heule, Senior Vice President of Technical Operations for his success in implementing proactive planning and quality control at west of America.
