FLS Aerospace reports that it has signed a 2 years contract with bmibaby to provide line maintenance services at their new base at Cardiff International Airport. The significant contract will see FLSA strengthening its existing line operation to support an initial two B737-300 aircraft which will be based at the expanding Welsh airport.

The two bmibaby aircrafts commenced services to nine European destinations from Cardiff International Airport at the end of last year.

It is also reported that dba has signed a new contract with FLS Aerospace extending the component support relationship between the two companies. Under this new contract FLSA will provide component management services for dba's fleet of 16 B737-300 aircraft for further 5 years. The original contract, which began in October 1997, has seen FLSA successfully supporting dba for the last 5 years.

This new contract which is valued to 26million will see FLSA continue to place a consignment stock at Munich airport for the exclusive use of dba. FLSA also has an on-site Liaison Officer based in Munich to manage this contract. In addition the airline will also have access to the large pool of stock at FLSA's major component distribution centre at Heathrow airport.
