Cobham chairman to lead Chartered Management Institute

Gordon Page, Chairman of Cobham plc, has become president of the Chartered Management Institute, taking over from John Robinson, Chairman of George Wimpey plc.

An economist by background, Gordon has had a distinguished career in management, having moved through the ranks at Rolls-Royce and then Cobham, becoming Chairman in November 2001.

On becoming president of the Institute, Gordon Page said: “I am delighted and honoured to serve as Institute President at a time when management is beginning to be recognised as a valued profession in its own right. The recent launch of the Chartered Manager programme, a professional hallmark for managers, is part of a process to boost productivity and I hope to encourage organisations to develop their leadership skills so that today's managers can confidently become tomorrow's leaders.”
