Luftfartsverket (LFV Group) and the Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR), member of the AT-One Research Alliance, have recently agreed on a strategic co-operation in the area of Air Traffic Management Validation and Simulation.

Through this agreement, the LFV Group has become member of the NARSIM user community. This community has been established to enhance the development of the existing NARSIM platform for prototyping and validation of ATM functions and services, supporting the community needs for improved air travel, at the lowest cost possible.

By becoming a member of this community, the LFV Group obtains the possibility to use the current NARSIM platform at its sites in Sweden. This will support LFV in the process of validating new CNS/ATM concepts and education of staff. LFV's membership will also bring valuable knowledge and experience to further develop and enhance NARSIM together with AT-One.

NARSIM was developed by NLR as an advanced real time simulator for air traffic control operations with both pilots and air traffic controllers in the loop. The NARSIM software enables prototyping and validation of new ATM concepts with humans in-the-loop. New ideas can therefore be quickly evaluated towards operational feasibility.

The NARSIM community is a collaboration of NARSIM platform users to share ideas, developments and experience in working with the NARSIM simulation platform. Organisations that become member of the community get access to a reserved area at www.narsim.org and have world-wide online access to in-depth information about NARSIM.
