ANAC establishes manufacturing in China
ANAC establishes manufacturing in China
Akzo Nobel Aerospace Coatings (ANAC) has established a manufacturing base in Suzhou, China. The move supports its existing sales and distribution operations in Asia Pacific, first established in 1980, and is part of the company's key strategic plans for the region.
Graham Windsor, ANAC's General Manager, Asia Pacific commented: “Manufacturing aerospace coatings locally in China is a logical step to supporting the Chinese OEM and MRO markets, but also the rapidly expanding Aerospace industry throughout the Asia Pacific region. Local manufacturing will reduce lead times, transportation costs and assist clients with off-set obligations, which is so important in a very cost conscious industry.”
Akzo Nobel is the world's largest coatings business. Its Suzhou factory employs over 90 staff and manufactures around 6,000 tons of paint annually. Accredited to ISO 9001, 14001, and 18001 standards, its operations are based on those of its sister factory in Sassenheim in The Netherlands. Sassenheim, the European HQ for ANAC, is accredited to AS9100 approval and is currently the key manufacturing site for all ANAC Airbus approved coatings. ANAC's global HQ is in Waukegan, USA and is a fully approved Boeing facility.
Suzhou's close proximity to the airports and port of Shanghai make it an excellent location to logistically support all ANAC's clients in China and throughout the Asia Pacific region, the company added.
