Article Type: University and research news From: Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology: An International Journal, Volume 81, Issue 5

A.J. Walter (AJW) Aviation, the complete aircraft spares support specialist, is to continue its support of London City University's MSc Aircraft Maintenance Management, by announcing its third annual AJW Bursary for 2009. Regionally focused each year, the Bursary was previously awarded to Benyam Seyoum, an Engineer with Ethiopian Airways in 2007; and Julius Fernandes, an IT Projects Controller for Emirates Airline in 2008. The 2009 Bursary will be offered exclusively to a student from Europe.

The MSc Aircraft Maintenance Management is an advanced degree course available from City University, London, which provides a full understanding of the complex disciplines required to manage the various technical, operational and financial pressures impacting on flight operations. Applications are invited immediately from students throughout Europe who should contact AJW by e-mail.

AJW has also recently confirmed its on-going financial support of the degree course itself and Christopher Whiteside, UK, Chief Executive comments: “Our industry is constantly changing and we need to prepare our engineering professionals to meet future challenges by equipping them with the management skills they will need across technical, legislative, safety and operational disciplines. If we can combine people, solutions and infrastructure with transferable skills of the highest calibre, we can maintain levels of excellence across all aspects of the airline and MRO business. We are proud to support this course which enhances career progression at the very heart of the global aviation industry.”
