New Platinum forecast system unveiled

Article Type: Mini features From: Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology: An International Journal, Volume 81, Issue 5

Forecast International (FI), the Connecticut-based company that many years ago pioneered the development of the ten-year forecast, has now unveiled a new forecasting system that they state is poised to become the wave of the future in market analysis and presentation.

In commenting on this new product, Company Founder Ed Nebinger stated, “Platinum represents a quantum leap forward in forecasting and analytical techniques. It is designed to greatly ease the time and workload required to assess the impact of rapidly changing market developments, allowing marketers and planners alike to quickly apply this knowledge to competitive advantage. Further, Platinum boosts efficiency while at the same time enhancing the accuracy of research findings.”

FI's new Platinum system is based upon a powerful company-designed database that accepts all of the information generated by its analysts, integrates it, and then provides through a graphical interface an instantaneous readout of the current status of any market segment. The data are presented to the client in the form of stunning graphics depicted in many variations and selections. Moreover, the user is able to employ drill-down and hover-over features to obtain expanded information and a rationale for the presentation.

FI's Platinum features 56 pre-configured market segments covering the aerospace, defense, electronics and power systems industries. In addition, Platinum users are able to readily create their own market segments. Value calculations can be specified in any of seven world currencies, and the system provides many new features never before available from FI's Market Intelligence services.

Ray Peterson, Vice President, Research & Editorial Services at FI, stated candidly, “Even with the best of the present real-time systems, there is always a small delay in order to process the information and place it onto the Internet. However, in today's marketing environment, clients are looking for even faster response, as daily events are changing the outlook rapidly, and the associated risks are higher than ever! Platinum solves this problem, as it calculates everything instantaneously and presents up-to-the-minute data for any and all markets. To illustrate, a user in Australia will receive FI's latest findings with new graphics and downloadable spreadsheets within one minute after data inputs are made by any of FI's Analysts.”

FI conducted a series of daily demonstrations of its new Platinum service at the Paris Air Show over the period 15-21 June.
