The Harry S. Truman Library in Independence, Missouri, has planned a $22.5-million makeover, adding new exhibit space and three interactive "decision theaters" where visitors can choose sides in decisions Truman faced. Governor Mel Carnahan's donation of $2 million from the state got the capital campaign off to a good start.

Nashville (TN) has broken ground for a new 288,000-square-foot main library with a price tag of $88 million. The three-story, split-level facility will be able to hold 1 million books, over 150 public computers, a grand reading room, an auditorium, a children's theater, and a café.

Eileen Fitzsimons is Development Editor, Neal-Schuman Publishers, New York, NY.
