The World Wide Web can enhance many types of training and learning. The Knowledge Web brings together examples of research projects from the Knowledge Media Institute at the Open University.

Examples include Internet‐enhanced collaboration media, intelligent agents and scientific visualization and simulation tools.

The book emphasises practical research which will affect the development of higher education throughout the world. But the new approaches to learning which the publication describes will also help to shape the future development and delivery of training and staff development in a wide range of organizations.

The book has a custom‐built Web site, which includes examples of the work through which readers can explore and experiment.
