SEL-REX Select electroless nickel immersion gold system has been introduced by Enthone-OMI Inc. Providing a nickel-gold finish which exhibits a flat, highly-solderable surface, the new system is ideally suited for wire bonding, EMI shielding and key contact applications.
Unlike other electroless nickel immersion gold processes, the SEL-REX Select system is specifically engineered to operate under low loading conditions and offers exceptional compatibility with the industry's leading liquid photoimageable solder masks. The system utilises high performance electroless nickel and SEL-REX gold technologies. The stabiliser system in the electroless nickel is designed to allow for low operating temperatures, while providing excellent stability and control of the nickel deposit. A SEL-REX immersion gold follows, yielding a thin and highly-solderable gold surface finish. The high purity gold provides quick initiation, consistent adhesion and pore-free, self-limiting coverage of the nickel deposit.
